DIY: Paint Splattered Jeans!

Well hello there!

diy paint splattered jeans

Today I was feeling really super artsy and decided to break out my paint. While sitting outside painting a massive piece of wood an idea hit me to create paint splattered jeans. Now you might think I'm crazy, and I'm sure once my mother sees what I've done she'll think so too, but realistically I saved myself $200. Yes I know there are tons of paint splattered jeans out there for much cheaper, but the only ones I really like are the Rialto ones because they just look so awesome. The best thing about this project tho is that you can choose your own paint colours, what little fun extras you want and have the pride of knowing you did it yourself. So what am I waiting for? Let's get started!

What You'll Need:

Towel/Newspapers
Pair of Jeans
Acrylic Paint
Paintbrushes
Gloves (optional)

Once you have everything ready and set up, you pour some paint into the lids to make it an easier dipping process. Take your paint brush and dip it into your primary colour, making sure there is quite a bit of paint on it.

Tap the paint brush repeatedly on your hands or fingers so that it creates a splatter effect.

Continue this process with all of your colours

I decided after to add some white in just because I feel like it adds a bit more to the effect.

Wait for the paint to dry just enough to turn them over and continue the process on the back.

If you'd like to add something extra, you can add a hand print on the back pocket.

There are many other choices including distressing, studs or even some patches. The possibilities are endless.

When you feel as though your jeans are complete, hang them up by the ankles on a clothes line so the paint completely dries. If you are extremely concerned with the paint coming out, you can blow dry or iron them to make sure it withstands washing.

  1. What a great idea! I have a pair of Jeans that would look so much cuter with a little paint. <3, Carmen www.therubyzipper.com

    1. It's a great way to repurpose jeans that you feel have lost their "oomph'!

  2. I love the subtle look of these jeans. I would have probably put more paint on but it would have taken ages to dry. :3 It really adds a little extra to them!
